FIELD TECHNICIAN

Sofia is a field technician in conservation projects at AMUS since 2023, mainly for the LIFE Eurokite project. Her main tasks are: releasing red kites, monitoring and GPS tracking, detecting mortality and supporting bird tagging. She also works on the management of two vulture feeding stations, camera trapping and GPS monitoring of several raptors and bustard species. Previously, she worked as a breeding manager for lesser kestrels and rescued primate care.

TECHNICAL COORDINATOR

Alfonso has been working for AMUS since 2017, promoting several raptor conservation projects, including the LIFE Eurokite project which he has been deeply involved in those past years. He also coordinates other projects with vultures, harriers and bustards in several regions of Spain, as well as habitat restoration projects in the south west of the Extremadura region.

WETLAND SPECIALIST

Jakub is a freshwater restoration practitioner focused on rivers, wetlands and floodplains. He works on restoring natural river dynamics, reconnecting side channels and improving habitat conditions for aquatic species. He will show you around BROZ projects in the Danube side arms.

COMMUNICATION MANAGER

Andrea is responsible for communicating the impact of BROZ to the rest of the world, from creating documentaries to managing press relations. A keen wildlife photographer and national park official guide, she will be with you the whole week.

HEAD OF TRAVEL

Also known as Deli, she transitioned from tech to Mossy Earth and leads the Mossy Earth Experiences side of the organisation. These days, you’ll find her skating, dancing, collecting vinyl records or bodyboarding.

CONSERVATION BIOLOGIST

An admirer of nature and always amazed by anything ocean related, especially below the sea surface. Enjoys diving, and while not doing it, she can be found cooking some experimental recipes.

PROJECT MANAGER

Born and raised in the Amazon rainforest, these days Fredy helps both visitors and local people discover the beauty and value of a healthy forest full of animals. He wants to see the communities in the Amazon prosper from conservation and ecotourism and has dedicated his career to this vision, working in sustainable tourism for over 20 years.

PROJECT MANAGER

Also known as Yudi, he is a diving instructor passionate about restoring the coral reef of his native Indonesian islands so that it can support as much biodiversity as possible.

CONSERVATION BIOLOGIST

Her love for the natural world began with a fascination with animal behaviour. As a kid she'd spend her days outside, observing wild creatures and decided to turn her passion into a profession. Loves swimming, hiking and sitting by the fire with her friends. She will be your main guide throughout the week.

CO-FOUNDER

Having previously worked for a startup and spending most of his free time outdoors, Duarte is passionate about entrepreneurship and wilderness, making Mossy Earth his dream job.

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT

With a love of plants, from the largest trees or colorful aromatics, to the tiny and discreet ones, and experience in conservation and plant propagation, Francisco wants to help protect and restore wild ecosystems and endangered species. He can tell you everything you’d like to know about native and invasive plants in the region.

CO-FOUNDER

Lives a quiet life in rural Portugal. When not running Mossy Earth, Matt enjoys spending time with his little boy Noah, bodyboarding, pottering around on his land or trail running with his two dogs, both named Luz.

CONSERVATION SITE MANAGER

Her life goals are rewilding, reducing her ecological footprint a lot and keeping enjoying life so much through nature, people, outdoor sports, crafts, science and imagination. Teresa runs Mossy Earth’s hub in the Mira, so she can tell you all about setting up a rewilding project from scratch.

PROJECT COORDINATOR

Having grown up in the Mira region, her love for nature and wildlife was almost unavoidable. With her studies in marine biology, she is currently responsible for our invasive species control project, and she will guide you through a birdwatching workshop.

CONSERVATION BIOLOGIST

Driven by a passion for conservation and photography, João feels most alive when immersed in the wilderness. He will guide you through birdwatching and animal tracking workshop, identifying the footsteps of local fauna.
